This is the awkward part where I get to write about how awesome I am.
I've studied at Pasadena Art Center and California State University Fullerton, earning degree concentrations in animation and illustration. On the side, I took as many art classes as possible and developed skills in ceramics, sculpture, metal casting, printmaking and various other crafts just for the sheer enjoyment of it. I interned at Cartoon Network Studios and later worked as a prop and set designer for many film projects. I also earned teaching credentials and worked as an instructor of drawing, watercolor, and oil painting at Mission: Renaissance fine art academy.
Eventually, I married into the military life and get to move to cool new places every few years, depending on where the job takes us. I work primarily from my home studio as an artist and illustrator.. Besides all my random contract work, I also sell my work in gift shops, galleries and festivals. Online, you can find my work at various sites which are all linked from my homepage.
While stationed at JBLM in Tacoma, my family and I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. We have a homestead on 10 acres in the woods of Pierce County where we hope to permanently settle and produce all our own food.
When I'm not creating art, I love spending time outside exploring the natural world. I'm an advocate of the community science movement and my interests are particularly focused on the ecology of macrofungi.
Currently, I serve on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Mycological Society. I am the Vice President and Social Media person for the South Sound Mushroom Club, and I am the Visual Arts Chair for the North American Mycological Association.
I help drop educational mycological posts multiple times a week via @SouthSoundMushrooms on Instagram and Facebook.
I also edit most of the videos for Wisconsin Mycological Society's YouTube channel, here:

Momo, the truffle cat (Don't act too impressed, he's terrible at it. But he likes to tag along.)
Bram, the truffle dog, the hamburgerist of friend-os.
Miss Kitty, she's more of a snuggly lap cat
and too many chickens.
